Results - Coole Pilate Open, Sunday 11th June 2017.

59 Anglers contested the match 11am - 4pm. Most of these anglers will compete in the Division One National Angling Championship on Saturday 19th August 2017.
Conditions were 'testing' with a 20mph south westerly wind hindering fine presentation, and adding to a strong tow on the water.
Main species coming to the net were Roach, Bream, and Gudgeon. The big Perch didnt put in an appearance.
One or two Eels slipped away also !

Winner was Boyden 'K' with 8 lbs 8 ozs from favoured Peg 14 near to the 'broken' railway bridge.
Runner Up with 8 lbs 1 oz was M.Derry from Peg 9 adjacent to Bridge 83.
3rd place went to F.Cheetham with 7 lbs 5 ozs from Peg 1 on the Picnic area.
4th was R.Guest who weighed 6 lbs 13 ozs from Peg 41 nearer to the Marina.
5th was D.Shaw with 5 lbs 11 ozs from Peg 17.

Despite difficult conditions, the Shroppie provided a competitive match and only 8 anglers didnt weigh.
On a better day anglers can be reasonably confident of bigger nets.
